What does your business do?
honcho is the UK’s first reverse auction marketplace for financial services, bringing a better way for consumers to search for and buy insurance that is fair, transparent, equitable and focussed around them.
What’s your biggest success/ achievement of the past year?
honcho has been over 3 years in the making, and the past year has been huge for us, not only because of the progress that we’ve made on building our service in readiness for launch, but also the monumental success that we had in early 2018 in raising over £800k in funding via our crowdfunding round. Seeing and feeling the support of investors who believe in our mission is fantastic.
What’s been the best part of the Digital Drive programme for you so far?
Being able to tap into the resources that Digital Drive provides. It is great to be part of a community of organisations who see such opportunity in digital, and the backup resources available are great too.
What’s the best tip you’ve picked up from attending Digital Drive workshops that you’d like to pass on to others?
We’re pretty advanced digital marketers however we’ve picked up various bits and pieces along the way, such as effective strategies for post-engagement targeting via Facebook custom audiences.
What’s next for your business over the coming year?
Launch! honcho is almost ready to launch, bringing our brand new way of getting a great deal on insurance – where insurers repeatedly bid against each other to win your business – to consumers across the UK.
