What does your business do?
Established in 2002, Chemtech has grown to become a leading supplier of chemical testing throughout the UK. Accredited by UKAS and MCERTS we test many sample types including contaminated land and soils, topsoil and compost, groundwater and surface water, leachates, trade effluents and wastewater. Our lab is equipped with the latest technology to deal with heavy metals, inorganics and trace organics.
What’s your biggest success/ achievement of the past year?
The company has been talking about introducing a LIMS (Lab Information Management System) for a number of years. This year we finally took the plunge as we transform our business and processes through digitisation of what has been to date a very manual process.
What’s been the best part of the Digital Drive programme for you so far?
Digital Drive has enabled us to expedite our plans for a LIMS. This is critical to helping us to handle more work as the business grows.
What’s the best tip you’ve picked up from attending Digital Drive workshops that you’d like to pass on to others?
Our National Sales Manager attended a workshop on how to get the most from LinkedIn. He came back energised and enthused about how he could take this information and apply it to his everyday routine. So, the best tip I’ve picked up – take advantage of the classes on offer. If it’s not relevant to you, send a colleague or member of staff.
What’s next for your business over the coming year?
We’ve ambitious plans to grow the business this year increasing accreditation for testing, employing more staff, introducing new instrumentation and most importantly, cultivating our customer base.
